Where I've been working for the past two years I don't always get holidays off, or if I do get the holiday off I don't have the long holiday weekend to go with it. This year I was fortunate enough to have Fourth of July weekend off and I was able to get someone to cover my Monday shift to make it a nice long four day weekend. My boyfriend and our two friends, Ian & Emily, cruised down to Sandbridge, VA to enjoy the weekend at Ian's grandparents house on Back Bay. The area feels a lot like how Nags Head, NC used to feel like in the 90s and early 2000's. Lots of families, not too crowded, little restaurants and beach shops dotting the beach road; peaceful, not touristy and quiet. We spent all weekend relaxing at the beach and boating. It was so much fun!

We officially have a few days to go until we leave for our trip out west. I've been so busy I haven't had much time to really think about it but I'm starting to get excited for it. It'll be the longest trip we've ever done together so I'm also looking forward to how I feel after three weeks away from home. I remember last year after two weeks I didn't want to leave Iceland but at the same time I was SO ready to go home. We'll see!
