After hiking Dark Hollow Falls/Rose River Falls trail Dee and I decided to drive a few miles south on Skyline Drive and hike up to Bearfence Mountain. We've both been wanting to do this hike for awhile and we picked the perfect day to hike it because the valley to the east was covered in fog and it was creeping over the mountains into the west. Additionally, there were a few rain storms moving across the western valley so it was neat to watch the rain across the valley... and we even got sprinkled on! Bearfence Mountain is a super easy hike with a bit of a rock scramble to get to the outlook. It's a very popular spot in Shenandoah National Park for photographers to hike up to capture a sunset or sunrise because of the relatively short hike and expansive views. It really was such a beautiful hike and next time I go it will definitely be at sunrise.
