On our recent trip in San Diego, we spent the better part of one day exploring around La Jolla. I swear this place stole my heart. The coasts are dotted with playful little seals and sea lions (they even have their own protected beach and cove that they lounge on), there are multiple spots where you can find tide pools when the tide recedes, there are sea caves that you can explore and kayak into, and there's a paved walk along the entire coast with stone staircases down to some of the beaches (sorry for the longest sentence ever). Also, there are lots of little restaurants that sit higher up on the cliffs and they have amazing views of the Pacific Ocean and La Jolla Cove. We stopped by one to have a drink and grab a light lunch before we went to the Stone Brewing World & Beer Gardens for dinner later that night. But La Jolla was a blast! Again we had perfect weather all day and I was quite toasty in a sleeveless turtleneck and jeans (at least I kinda looked like one of the locals!). If you ever find yourself in San Diego I highly recommend driving the 20-25 minutes north up the coast to La Jolla :)
